Goal Statement (Pharmacists & Nurses)
The purpose of this activity is to provide the participant with the knowledge needed to manage patients with
breast cancer.
- Summarize the incidence and risk factors for breast cancer.
- Identify screening and prevention options for the public.
- Differentiate the options for the management of patients with early and late stage breast cancer.
- Describe the role for new therapies in breast cancer management.
Goal Statement (Pharmacy Technicians)
The purpose of this activity is to provide the participant with the knowledge needed to assist pharmacists in
managing patients with breast cancer.
- Describe the risk factors for breast cancer.
- Identify screening and prevention options for the public.
- List three medications used for either early or late stage breast cancer.
Target Audience
Pharmacy staff and nursing staff involved with the medical care of patients with breast cancer.
