The purpose of this activity is to provide the pharmacist with the knowledge needed safely handle
hazardous medications.

  1. Describe the impact of USP Chapter <800> on hazardous drug handling.
  2. List the barriers to compliance with safe handling precautions.
  3. Identify three best practices for implementing USP Chapter <800> standards.


Pharmacy staff and nursing staff involved with the handling of hazardous medications in pharmacies and nursing facilities.




Innovatix, LLC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program has been approved for 1.0 contact hour for Patient Safety.

To receive continuing education credit, a pharmacist or technician must attend the accredited session and complete the program evaluation at Registrants must register no later than 10 minutes after the start of the meeting and must attend the entire meeting.
